Plastic, a versatile material

Used in numerous products to complete chairs, and in furniture and industrial machinery in order to improve mobility and functionality, caster wheels are made from various components. In order to function, a caster must be mounted onto a support arm which is capable of facilitating easy rotation and sliding on a particular surface. Plastic casters contain a hub, which is the central part of the wheel, the axle, made from a tube in metal or plastic and a screw to attach the wheel to its support arm. There are many types of plastic casters available on the market.
